Azerbaijani officials rejected claims that the government plans to boost budget revenues by raising taxes.

MP Azer Amiraslanov said at a parliamentary session that such statements are inaccurate, noting that the tax burden increase for 2026 is only 0.7%. The government plans AZN 6.6 billion in tax and customs exemptions — 17% of total revenues.

Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said reduced tax rates for low-income groups will be introduced gradually over three years.
