Transport costs for China-imported cars to Azerbaijan nearly double

Transporting cars from China to Azerbaijan has become almost twice as expensive in recent weeks, rising from about $1,500 per vehicle to $2,700–$2,900, local TV channel Xəzər TV reported.

Importers say some logistics companies have raised prices artificially amid year-end demand. Eyub Aliyev, head of the Auto Dealers Association, said global increases in container shipping rates, port congestion and rising logistics costs in China are also pushing prices up.

Experts warn the higher logistics expenses will be reflected in final car prices, even if vehicles arrive before the end of the current tax exemption period. Price stabilisation is expected early next year.
