Azerbaijani MP calls Musavat and APFP “traitors” — VİDEO
At a plenary session of parliament, MP Siyavush Novruzov sharply criticized several opposition parties and proposed revisiting the financing model of local self-government bodies.
Novruzov said that most political parties show unity on a number of issues, but according to him, the absence of Musavat and the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) in this process creates difficulties. He added that increasing state budget allocations for political parties could be considered.
“Musavat and APFP are traitors. All other political parties can work together as one team. I propose reviewing the funds allocated to them,” the MP stated.
He also stressed the need to expand the financial capacity of local self-government bodies.
“For 2026, no increase is planned. I believe the rule allowing districts to retain 50% of their collected revenue should be raised to 70%,” Novruzov added.
