Head of Baku–Hovsan Sea Port Rashad Dashdamirov arrested
Rashad Dashdamirov, head of the Baku–Hovsan International Trade Sea Port, has been arrested on charges of large-scale smuggling and tax evasion, according to information obtained by Qafqazinfo.
The Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General’s Office said the damage in the case is estimated at around 3 million manats. A court has ordered pre-trial detention for Dashdamirov.
He is the son of former Ganja city mayor Rasim Dashdamirov.
Sources say Dashdamirov denies the charges and appealed the arrest decision. The Baku Court of Appeal rejected his complaint as unsubstantiated.
