Trump says he has spoken with Putin

U.S. President Donald Trump said he recently spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin, making the comment during an exchange with reporters at the White House.

Trump said Ukraine had already lost part of its territory and added that the United States and Europe were working on security guarantees aimed at preventing a renewed outbreak of fighting.

“We don’t want the war to flare up again,” Trump said.
