Saakashvili hails Aliyev as a "Great Son of the Caucasus" on his birthday

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili sent a congratulatory message to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on his birthday, praising him as a historic leader who has transformed Azerbaijan's geopolitical standing.

"Ilham has achieved what we all dream of: he liberated Azerbaijani lands and established peace, turning Azerbaijan from an object into a crucial subject of world politics," Saakashvili stated.

He added that Aliyev has "written his name in gold letters in history" and will be remembered for centuries. Saakashvili, who collaborated closely with Aliyev during his own presidency, described the Azerbaijani leader as a model of "principledness and persistence" in defending national dignity.
