Ukrainian drones strike Russia’s Volgograd region
Ukrainian drones attacked strategic targets in Russia’s Volgograd region overnight, according to preliminary reports.
Russian Telegram channels said the strike hit the Volgograd oil refinery. Air raid alerts were issued in the region late on Dec. 25.
Residents reported hearing the first explosions at around 11:30 p.m. local time, with further blasts reported in the outskirts of Volgograd after midnight.
Images and videos circulating on social media showed explosions and a fire in the area of the refinery. Russian authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the incident.
