Azerbaijan considers legal measures to curb children’s digital addiction
Azerbaijan is considering the creation of a legal framework to regulate virtual addiction among children and adolescents and to protect their mental health from the negative impact of the digital environment.
Member of parliament Jeyhun Mammadov told a plenary session of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan that excessive dependence on screens and digital technologies has a detrimental effect on education and upbringing.
He said legislative measures should be combined with public awareness efforts and proposed holding parliamentary hearings involving government bodies and civil society organisations to discuss possible regulatory approaches.
