Koffi urges Azerbaijan to “be prepared” amid protests in Iran

Senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, Luke Coffey, posted a message on social media platform X featuring the Azerbaijani flag and the words “Be prepared” as protests continue to spread across Iran.

The post has sparked debate among analysts, who say the message may hint at scenarios involving deep political destabilisation in Iran, including the risk of systemic collapse or fragmentation of the country.

Some experts also suggest the statement could be interpreted as a reference to potential political sentiment in Iran’s Azerbaijani-populated regions, including possible discussions about closer alignment or unification with Azerbaijan should major internal changes occur in Iran.
