Azerbaijan Sets Oil and Gas Budget Prices for 2026

Azerbaijan Sets Oil and Gas Budget Prices for 2026
12.01.2026 15:28

For the 2026 state budget, Azerbaijan has set the calculated price of natural gas at $440 per 1,000 cubic meters, marking a significant 81.8% increase from 2025. Meanwhile, the base price for Azeri Light crude oil has been lowered by $5, from $70 to $65 per barrel.

The gas price forecast, provided by BP, reflects Azerbaijan's growing importance as a supplier to European energy hubs.

The conservative $65 oil price assumption is designed to shield the national budget from market volatility.

These figures are central to the State Oil Fund's (SOFAZ) 2026 financial projections, aiming for fiscal stability despite fluctuating global energy trends.
