Shahin Shykhlinski faces multi-million-ruble lawsuit
Former head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region Shahin Shykhlinski is facing a 22-million-ruble lawsuit seeking compensation for moral damages.
The claim was filed by Yekaterinburg resident Fehruz Shirinov, who alleges that Shykhlinski and the Safarov brothers were involved in an attempt on his life in 2010. According to Shirinov, he survived because the gun used by the alleged hitman malfunctioned.
Shykhlinski is currently a defendant in a criminal case involving attempted contract killing and the use of violence against a law enforcement officer. He was detained in Moscow in August 2025, transferred to Yekaterinburg and placed under arrest.
