Iran-aligned groups warn Israel as escalation risk grows
Israel’s military said a potential escalation around Iran could have a direct impact on Israel’s security, according to Major General Rafi Milo, head of the Israel Defense Forces’ Northern Command.
Israeli media quoted Milo as saying the IDF is closely monitoring the build-up of U.S. military forces in the Gulf and is preparing for a scenario in which Washington decides to strike Iran. In such a case, he said, an Iranian response could target not only U.S. assets but also Israel.
Milo added that Israel considers it a realistic possibility that Lebanon’s Hezbollah could join any escalation, saying the IDF remains on heightened alert for both defensive and offensive operations in the north.
Separately, Abu Hussein al-Hamidawi, secretary general of Iraq’s Hezbollah Brigades, called for mobilisation and preparation for a “full-scale war” in support of Iran, issuing threats against Israel and its allies.
