conomic ties between Azerbaijan and Israel have expanded rapidly since Azerbaijan opened its embassy in Israel, with bilateral trade rising by around 50% in 2025 to nearly $360 million, Israel’s foreign minister said.

According to him, Azerbaijan’s strong regional political standing and strategic geographic location make it a key gateway for Israeli business to the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

He noted that there are currently 20 direct flights per week between Baku and Tel Aviv, praising Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) for maintaining direct air services over the past two years.

The minister said that about 60,000 Israeli citizens visited Azerbaijan in 2025, a figure expected to grow significantly in the coming years. He described Azerbaijan as a safe and welcoming country for Jews and Israelis, calling on more Israelis to visit.

In his remarks, the minister also highlighted the strategic investments made by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Israel’s Tamar gas field, describing them as a reflection of mutual trust and pragmatic economic policy.

He emphasized that he arrived in Baku with a broad business delegation, including representatives of more than 40 Israeli companies and economic organizations.

The delegation includes companies operating in water management, energy, cybersecurity, technology, healthcare, agriculture and defense sectors.

The Israeli official said both sides are interested in increasing mutual investments in defense, energy, water resources, technology and cybersecurity.
