Azerbaijan’s president attends opening of flat glass plant in Sumgayit

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a flat glass production plant operated by Azermirror LLC at the Sumgayit Industrial Park.

Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov briefed the president on the development of industrial zones across the country and the activities of the Sumgayit Industrial Park.

Azermirror founder Rustam Abbasov said the company obtained resident status at the industrial park in 2023. The plant has created 30 permanent jobs and has an annual production capacity of 900,000 square meters of flat glass.

The output is intended to meet domestic demand and for export. The project, implemented using Chinese technologies, has an investment value of 6.13 million manats.

The Azerbaijan Business Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy provided a concessional loan of 1.5 million manats for the project. As a resident of the industrial park, Azermirror also received tax and customs exemptions totaling 600,000 manats.
