Macron adviser visits Moscow – media
French President Emmanuel Macron’s diplomatic adviser Emmanuel Bonne visited Moscow on Feb. 3 for talks with Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov, French magazine L'Express reported, citing a source.
The Elysee Palace has not commented on the report or confirmed whether the meeting took place.
Macron has previously said he intends to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as possible. After an EU summit in Brussels in December 2025, he said Europe needed to resume dialogue with Russia, adding that talks on Ukraine involving the United States and Russia without European participation were “not optimal”.
On Feb. 4, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia and France were in contact at a working level, but added that there was nothing noteworthy about those exchanges.
