Eight killed after vehicle carrying Chinese tourists sinks into Lake Baikal

A vehicle carrying Chinese tourists has fallen into Lake Baikal in Russia

A UAZ minibus driving on the ice went under the ice and sank into the lake.Eight people are reported to have died as a result of the incident.

The UAZ was transporting tourists who had come from China on an excursion. The driver failed to notice a crack in the ice, and the vehicle went under the ice.

According to BAZA, only one tourist survived out of the nine people in the vehicle. According to preliminary information, the local driver and seven Chinese citizens died.
