Prominent Azerbaijani journalist Avez Zeynalli dies

Prominent Azerbaijani journalist Avez Zeynalli has died, lawyer Aqil Laic said in a post on Facebook.

According to available information, Zeynalli had been undergoing treatment for cancer for a long time. In 2025, the journalist also travelled to Turkey for medical treatment.

Avez Zeynalli was the founder and editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Xural” and headed “Xural TV”. He worked as a journalist for many years and produced programmes covering social and political issues.
