29.05.2020 08:54
Doctors treating injured seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher are to reduce his sedation in an effort to start waking him up from an artificial coma.

The 45-year-old F1 legend has been in an induced coma since his skiing accident a month ago.The German fell whilst skiing off piste at the French Alps resort of Meribel and hit his head on a rock.Such was the force of the impact his helmet was split in two.Schumacher was placed in an induced coma following two operations to treat bleeding and heavy bruising on the brain. He was kept in a coma to help reduce the swelling.Reducing his sedation is the first step in the ‘waking up’ process but doctors stress that bringing him out of the coma could take a long time.Schumacher retired from Formula one in 2012 after a career spanning 19 years. In that time he won a record 91 races and the world title seven times, twice with Benetton and five straight times with Ferrari.(euronews.com)ANN.Az
