Seven different roles in captivating Fifties-themed self-portrait

Seven different roles in captivating Fifties-themed self-portrait

A photographer and artist has given new meaning to multitasking in a very well-edited self-portrait.Los Angeles-based Christine McConnell not only shoots, styles and models in her photo, but she also manipulated it to give the appearance that there are several characters in the shot, when really it is just her.In the Fifties-themed image, which she shared on Instagram, the brunette's multiple selves all don different outfits and hairstyles while seemingly interacting with each other, making it look as if she cloned herself. One of her 'clones' stands on a stool painting the wall while another decorates a cake and a third talks on the phone. Not only does she model - multiple times - in the image, but she also created all of the costumes she wears, did her own hair and make-up and even baked the cake.'Nearly everything shown was painted, baked, frosted, modeled, styled, photographed and sewn by me,' she wrote on Instagram in the picture caption. She added humorously: 'Except the armchair. . . I have not yet tackled upholstery.'Christine posted the picture on Reddit, explaining that she decided to do the shoot as a way of demonstrating all her artistic abilities.'I wanted to advertise the various talents I've cultivated so far,' she wrote. 'And this idea came to mind.'Using a room in her parent's house as the set, which she painted and decorated herself, she shot the photo in about an hour an half, including her quick outfit changes. It took her a summer to design and create all the costumes, and she spent about a week prepping the room for the shoot. The artist told My Modern Met that the image may look cohesive and simple, but it was very difficult to achieve.'I made all of the outfits without a pattern, painted the room and furniture, baked and decorated the cake and photographed and edited it,' she explained.'That may not seem like much to you, but I was pretty tired afterward.'(dailymail.co.uk)ANN.Az
