Azeri, Armenian foreign ministers to meet in Paris this month

The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan will hold talks on Nagorno-Karabakh in the second half of January, Armenian Foreign Minister Edvard Nalbandian has said.

Speaking at the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, Nalbandian said that together with international mediators Armenia will continue efforts to find a peaceful settlement to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Interfax reported, citing the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

"Nalbandian said that there will be a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan with the participation of cochairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group in Paris in the second half of January," the press service said.

Armenia captured nearly 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally-recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts, in a war after the Soviet breakup in 1991. Large-scale hostilities ended with a cease-fire in 1994 but the sides have yet to sign a peace agreement.
