Azerbaijan summons Iran envoy over drone strike on Nakhchivan

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said it had lodged a formal protest with Iran after a drone strike hit the country’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, leaving two people injured.

According to the ministry, Iran’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilou, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry where officials expressed a strong protest over the incident.

The Azerbaijani side also said it would present a formal diplomatic note of protest to Tehran.

The ministry added that two people were injured as a result of the drone strike on Nakhchivan.
