Ex-fattest man in the world Paul Mason has jetted off to America to discuss having his rolls of saggy, loose skin removed. The erstwhile postman, who shed a whopping 48 stone of his 70 stone frame - said the op will determine if he can ditch his wheelchair.A New York surgeon has offered to remove flesh from Paul's stomach for free after his plight was aired on a US TV show.Paul, 53, used to wolf down an extraordinary 20,000 calories a day and got down to 22 stone after having a gastric band fitted. However, he has been left with folds of skin which she said  are "debilitating" and force him into a wheelchair. This excess skin can be removed but the NHS has refused to carry out the £30,000 op on Paul, of Ipswich, Suffolk, until his weight is stable for two years. As well as visiting the surgeon, Paul will be spending time with his American girlfriend Rebecca Fountain - his first partner since the 1980s.The pair met online after Rebecca watched a documentary about his plight.(mirror.co.uk)ANN.Az
