BP cuts 255 jobs in Azerbaijan

"In parallel, we will also continue to strive to improve our competitiveness and therefore look for opportunities to remove unnecessary complexity and increase efficiency in areas like operational processes, supply chain and organisational structure.  In doing so we will make sure that safety remains our top priority and will not be compromised in delivering the business objectives that we have set for Azerbaijan and the region.  This will allow us to make our business more competitive while maintaining safe and reliable operations in the Caspian.

"As part of these efforts we have reviewed our organisational structure to align it with our business agenda of becoming a smaller organisation. As a result, some positions have been made redundant and this has impacted roles occupied both by national and expatriate employees.”

 

Those made redundant included 105 Azerbaijani nationals and 150 foreigners.
