Azerbaijan announces number of prisoners handed over to foreign countries

In 2014, Azerbaijan carried out the takeover and handover of a total of 114 prisoners and convicts in order for them to serve the rest of their penalties in their countries, the Azerbaijan government’s 2014 annual report said, APA reported.
According to the report, the Justice Ministry continued efforts last year to expand international relations, signing a memorandum on cooperation with the Croatian Justice Ministry.
Furthermore, the ministry has taken necessary measures for the recognition and pursuance of court verdicts, legal assistance on crimes and other issues as well as the execution of over 14,000 extradition requests.
