EU ready for talks on joint airspace with Azerbaijan

The European Union (EU) is ready to start negotiations on joint airspace with Azerbaijan, said Malena Mard, head of the EU delegation in Baku.

Mard said the issue will be discussed during the EU summit in Latvia's capital Riga in May.

"We are ready to start negotiations this year if Azerbaijan agrees," Mard said.

Joint airspace is an initiative of the European Commission.
