Azerbaijan arrests Taliban, ISIS fighters

The suspects were arrested for the "creation of military units or groups and participation in their creation and activities, provision to them of weapons, ammunition and explosives, military equipment or weapons" and "actions aimed at fanning ethnic, racial, social or religious feud or hatred and humiliation of ethnic dignity."

Two of the suspects were members of Taifatul Mansura, which is part of the illegal military group Tahriki Taliban in the Pakistani province Waziristan between 2007 and 2012.

 The five others fought in Syria and Iraq alongside various terrorist groups, including the Islamic State, in 2014-2015.

The detainees are facing prison sentences ranging from twenty years to life in prison if convicted.
