Russian MoD: 65 Ukrainian captives were in plane that crashed in Belgorod

The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed the fact that a military transport plane was shot down in the Belgorod region.

There were 65 captured military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who were being taken to the Belgorod region for exchange, 6 crew members, and 3 people accompanying them on board the plane.

According to the information, the commission of the military-space service was involved in the area.

After the incident, air raid sirens were activated in the Belgorod region. The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, called on the population: "If you are at home, do not go near the windows. It is necessary to take shelter in rooms with strong walls and no windows."

The governor also advised residents who were outside to move to a safe place.

State bodies have not yet confirmed the information.
