On the night of May 9, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Kyiv. However, the air defense forces destroyed all enemy targets, the Kyiv City Military Administration said on Telegram, reported from RBC-Ukraine.

"The night attack was carried out from four sides of Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea area. The day before, the invaders deliberately deployed a record number of Shaheds in order to identify and deplete Kyiv's air defense as much as possible," the military administration said in a statement.

The cruise missiles fired, most likely of the Kh-101 (Kh-555) type, did not reach their targets. According to preliminary information, about a dozen enemy air targets were detected and destroyed in the airspace around Kyiv, no hits were allowed.
