Newcastle linked with Qarabag goalkeeper Kochalski
English media have praised Mateusz Kochalski as one of Qarabag’s standout performers in the Champions League playoff ties against Newcastle United.
Although Qarabag conceded nine goals over two matches, Kochalski made eight saves in Baku and five more in Newcastle.
British newspaper The Sun reported that head coach Eddie Howe is looking for a new goalkeeper, and Kochalski could be considered.
The Polish keeper said playing in England is his biggest dream. He previously represented Legia Warsaw and Stal Mielec before joining Qarabag in 2024.
Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon praised Kochalski after the match, offering words of encouragement.
