More than 23 million people sign petition calling for Argentina’s World Cup ban
More than 23 million people have signed an online petition calling for Argentina to be permanently banned from the FIFA World Cup, accusing FIFA and match officials of favoring the South American team during the 2026 tournament.
The petition, titled “Argentina Out”, claims that “FIFA and the referees are biased toward Lionel Messi and Argentina” and argues that Argentina should be removed from the competition to ensure fair play. The campaign has collected more than 23.3 million signatures, putting it close to the Guinness World Record for the largest petition.
FIFA has not commented on the petition, and such initiatives have no legal effect on tournament results or disciplinary decisions.
