A teenager taking snaps of some medieval ruins was left stunned when he caught a ghostly image on camera.Cameron Hamilton, 15, was on a trip to Rufford Abbey Country Park in Nottinghamshire with friends when he captured the misty white figure, which he believes is a ghost, standing in a doorway. He was reading the information panels in the 12th century abbey’s undercroft about the ghostly legends of Rufford and decided to take some photos on his iPod Touch.Staff think he might have captured an image of the White Lady of Rufford who, according to legend, is believed to be the spirit of ill-fated Arbella Stuart, who died in 1615 (albeit in the Tower of London).‘It was only when he got home and we examined the film that we saw this image of a White Lady clearly in shot,’ explained his shocked mother Helen.‘You can make out the jewellery she is wearing and her face too.’They later showed the photograph, which features the arched stone doorway to the medieval Cellarium area of the ruins, to staff at the park.‘It certainly looked like a figure – like a young woman in full old fashioned dress, hovering over the door,’ said Debbie Hibbert, who manages the tourist information centre at Rufford Abbey.Nottinghamshire council visitor services manager Linda Hardy said the story of the White Lady was local legend.‘I’ve heard of one or two sightings of her by local people in past years,’ she added.Cameron said his belief in the supernatural has been bolstered after seeing the ghoulish snap.(metro.co.uk)
