US tariffs slash Honda Motor profit by 50% in Q2

Japanese automaker Honda Motor reported a 49.6% drop in operating profit for the second quarter of 2025, falling to 244.1 billion yen ($1.65 billion) compared to the same period last year.
The company cited the impact of US tariffs and adverse foreign exchange rates as the main factors. Net profit for the April–June period also fell 50.2% year-on-year to 196.6 billion yen ($1.33 billion).
