Poland rejects Belarus proposal to resume dialogue

Poland has rejected a Belarus proposal to resume bilateral dialogue, citing a migrant crisis and Minsk’s support for Russia’s policies, including the war in Ukraine, the Polish foreign ministry said on Tuesday.
Belarus’s defence ministry had earlier sent a letter to Poland’s foreign ministry suggesting the restoration of contacts.
“In the current situation, Poland categorically rejects the resumption of dialogue with Belarus,” the statement said.
Warsaw accuses Minsk of orchestrating the flow of illegal migrants across their shared border, as well as of military and political cooperation with Russia.
“Military cooperation between states requires adherence to a certain minimum of rules within international relations to strengthen mutual trust,” the ministry said, adding it saw no possibility for talks under current conditions.
