Pashinyan says Trump Route to benefit Russia and Iran through rail access

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the implementation of the agreements signed in Washington would bring “significant and unprecedented” economic benefits not only to Azerbaijan, Armenia, the U.S., and Turkey, but also to Russia and Iran.
In an interview with Fox News, Pashinyan emphasized that Iran would gain access to rail infrastructure stretching from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea under the so-called Trump Route initiative.
“Russia and Iran will be able to establish a direct railway connection between the two countries,” Pashinyan said.
He noted that if the economic aspects of the agreement are prioritized, both Moscow and Tehran would receive “very important and tangible, indeed unprecedented” advantages.
“That’s why I consider this a highly important agreement that can bring substantial benefits not only to the countries involved but also to the international community in terms of global stability and security,” the Armenian leader said.
