Ukraine: Peace talks must include Kyiv, ceasefire needed first

Decisions about peace cannot be made without Ukraine, and talks will only be effective after a ceasefire is reached, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said on platform X ahead of a planned meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska.
“No one wants peace more than Ukrainians,” Sybiha wrote. “But Russia continues to pursue war and tries to block a just and lasting peace.”
He added that only unity, which he described as “stronger than Russian imperialism,” can ensure a dignified peace based on real security guarantees.
