EU may tighten pressure on Turkish banks over Russia ties – media
Turkish financial institutions may face increased pressure from the European Union as Brussels prepares its 19th package of sanctions against Russia, RIA Novosti reported, citing a source in Turkey’s state financial sector.
According to the source, Ankara has recently received indirect signals from Brussels indicating possible tighter EU scrutiny of financial transactions linked to Moscow.
“Turkish business circles should be ready for higher compliance risks and additional checks,” the source was quoted as saying.
