Zelenskiy to visit Rome next week as Italy prepares new energy support for Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will make an official visit to Italy next week, IL Messaggero reported. The trip to Rome is scheduled for Dec. 9 and was agreed following a phone call with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Media reports say Zelenskiy will visit London tomorrow before heading to Brussels for EU and NATO summits.
During the call, Zelenskiy thanked Meloni for the equipment Italy will deliver in the coming days to support Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. He said the discussion focused on strengthening the country’s power grid and coordinating further diplomatic efforts.
Zelenskiy noted that Italy will provide new equipment to help restore and reinforce Ukraine’s energy system after Russian attacks. He also briefed Meloni on his recent contacts with U.S. officials and outlined current challenges and prospects in the negotiation process.
