U.S. president says Cuba’s leadership is close to collapse
U.S. President Donald Trump said Cuba’s leadership is close to collapse due to a lack of revenue.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Washington, Trump said Cuba has virtually no income left. He noted that the island had relied heavily on revenue linked to Venezuelan oil, which he said has now dried up.
Asked about possible U.S. military action against Cuba, Trump said he did not believe such steps were necessary, adding that Cuba appeared likely to “collapse on its own.”
