Trump weighs possible strike on Iran, no final decision yet

U.S. President Donald Trump has discussed the timing of potential military strikes on Iran, including the possibility of launching them as early as this weekend.

Senior national security officials told Trump on Wednesday that the military is prepared to carry out potential strikes as soon as Saturday, CNN reported, citing sources.

However, any action could extend beyond the weekend, officials said, adding that Trump has not yet made a final decision on whether to proceed.

One source told CNN that Trump has privately expressed arguments both “for” and “against” military action and has consulted advisers and allies on the best course of action.

“He is spending a lot of time thinking about it,” the source said.
