Zelenskiy says Washington may seek his replacement
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Washington may be seeking his replacement.
In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Zelenskiy said partners must decide whether they want elections or simply a change of president — something he said Russia also seeks.
Zelenskiy stressed that he insists on a ceasefire before any final peace agreements are signed. He proposed a two-month truce to allow elections and a referendum on a peace deal.
If such a ceasefire is reached, he said he is ready to do everything possible, including working with parliament, to ensure support for the process.
He also called on the United States to “do its homework” and persuade Russia to agree to a truce.
