US will continue military operations against Iran until objectives met, Trump says
U.S. military operations against Iran will continue until Washington achieves all of its objectives, U.S. President Donald Trump said.
In a video posted on Truth Social, Trump confirmed the deaths of three American service members and said casualties could rise, adding that the United States would avenge the deaths of its citizens.
He said combat operations were continuing “at full force” and that Washington had “very strong objectives.” In an interview with NBC, Trump said the outcome of the operation would be of major global significance.
Trump also said Iranian officials want to hold talks with Washington but did not disclose names or discussion topics. Asked whether strikes could be paused during negotiations, he did not rule out the possibility but said it remained unclear whether Tehran could satisfy U.S. demands.
He added that the operation was launched after Iran refused to halt nuclear research and declare it would not pursue nuclear weapons, and called on the Iranian military to lay down its arms.
