US orders partial evacuation of diplomats from Saudi Arabia
The United States has ordered select diplomatic personnel and their families to depart Saudi Arabia amid rising regional security concerns. US State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott stated that the directive stems from attacks by Iran-backed Houthi forces targeting civilian infrastructure in the kingdom.
According to Reuters, Washington is simultaneously evaluating potential family evacuations across other Gulf states. Meanwhile, multiple explosions were reported near the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran, specifically within the Karpan district of Hormozgan province.
