Azerbaijan conducts 2,176 research projects in 2025, government report says
Scientific institutions in Azerbaijan conducted 2,176 research projects in 2025 across 226 scientific problems and 706 topics, according to the government’s annual report.
During the year, 125 research projects were implemented in practice, while researchers secured 67 grants, including 23 from foreign sources.
Scientists also obtained 104 patents in 2025, 26 of which were registered abroad, the report said.
Researchers working in scientific institutions published 686 books and monographs during the year.
In addition, scientists produced 12,800 scientific articles and theses, some of which were published in impact-factor journals indexed in international databases such as Web of Science and Scopus.
According to the report, research works by Azerbaijani scientists received around 67,000 citations overall.
