Lukoil's Alekperov hosts lavish $760,000 corporate gala for top executives
Russian oil major Lukoil spent at least 60 million rubles ($760,000) on an exclusive year-end gala for its top management in central Moscow, local media reported on Friday.
The event, reportedly organized by major shareholder Vagit Alekperov, took place under heavy security at a three-story mansion decorated in the company’s signature red and white colors. According to reports from the Mash Telegram channel, the budget included multi-million ruble venue fees and a high-end concert program featuring stars like Valery Leontiev, who allegedly flew in from Miami for a $190,000 performance.
The lavish spending comes as the Russian energy sector continues to navigate complex global market conditions and domestic fiscal pressures.
