Hackers have stolen over 348 million rubles (over $5.4 million) from Russian bank accounts using viruses that target Android devices, the Russian Kommersant newspaper reports.

The money was stolen between April 2015 and March 2016 using Trojans, the newspaper said on Thursday citing a Group-IB cyber security company report, which shows that the amount of money stolen is more than a 470 percent increase over the 2014-2015 period, according to Sputnik International.

At the same time, Group-IB data shows a decrease in the amounts of money stolen by hackers using PC viruses, warning that the tendency will continue and the number of malicious Android Apps will increase in the future. In Russia, about 350 Android device users fall victim to hackers daily, according to Kommersant.
