Man struck and killed by Tbilisi-Baku train in western Azerbaijan

A 24-year-old man was fatally struck by the Tbilisi–Baku passenger train around 02:00 local time on the Zayam–Dallar railway section, Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) confirmed.

The train was traveling at an operational speed of 135 km/h when the pedestrian suddenly entered the tracks. Although the driver applied emergency brakes, the short stopping distance made the collision unavoidable.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Rahil Valiyev.
