Israel’s new ambassador arrives in Baku

Dan Stav, the newly-appointed Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan, has arrived in Baku, APA news agency reported, citing the embassy.

Stav, 59, previously served as Israel's ambassador to Nepal.

The former Israeli ambassador, Rafael Harpaz, left the Azerbaijani capital last week.

Azerbaijan is one of a few Muslim countries that have established diplomatic relations with Israel.

The country has yet to open an embassy in Jerusalem.
