Azerbaijani government to work in new situation next year

We made a very significant breakthrough in the regulation of the pharmaceutical market. Every Azerbaijani citizen will see it after September 15. Drug prices have been reduced by 2-3 times, President Ilham Aliyev said at Tuesday’s meeting dedicated to economic issues and works on preparing 2016 state budget, APA reports.

The head of state said reforms in governance need to be deepened.

"There has to be even more serious fight against corruption and bribery. ASAN Service was given new functions after I signed a decree recently. Every citizen of Azerbaijan is aware of the state of housing and communal economy, lots of illegal demands put forward against people. Now everything is going to be easy with ASAN Service," said the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev said that there are serious offences in the transport sector and people get hurt.

"They put forward unreasonable demands against people. We have already given part of this area to ASAN Service. ASAN Service should have standards in every area in future as well. Therefore, the government will have to accomplish extensive work next year,” said the president.

The head of state noted that next year the government will work in a new situation.

"Oil revenues are decreasing, and therefore more innovation will be needed. Of course, steps will be taken for the development of entrepreneurship and financial stability will be ensured. I have no doubt about it,” the president stressed.
