Europe shouldn’t give up partnership with Azerbaijan, says Bulgaria's Simeon II

"Azerbaijan is known on a global scale,” said Simeon II. "In recent years, the country has achieved enormous success in political and economic areas.”

He said Azerbaijan is rich in energy resources, adding that it is important to realize energy projects, which will deliver Azerbaijan’s gas to Europe.

Simeon II also said Azerbaijan will ensure the energy security of the entire Europe.

"I highly appreciate the policy of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev in the energy sector, and I am confident that he will be able to realize all the plans on energy supplies to Europe. Europe should not give up the partnership with a country that will ensure its energy security,” said Simeon II.

He added that Bulgaria considers Azerbaijan as a reliable partner.
