The Liverpool striker has revealed that football was not always his main passion and that as a child he wanted to be a WWE superstar!

The 26-year-old, who is set to be a main part of England's Euro 2016 campaign, says he idolised The Undertaker and could have even seen himself in the ring.

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney recently made a hilarious cameo while the WWE roadshow was in England last November.

While wrestling is an 'inspiration' for Sturridge, he's not sure about making his own appearance on the show any time soon.

"I don’t think I’d go that far these days – maybe 15 years ago," he told Sport.

"Them days are gone for me now!"He added: "When you are younger, you don’t understand whether wrestling is real or isn’t real.

"But it was just the way in which they went about their business.

"It was exciting to see, and it was inspiring actually – it was a fun thing to watch."
